Senior Research Scientist - Nanotechnology

About the Role

Our client is seeking an accomplished Senior Research Scientist with a specialization in Nanotechnology to join their innovative research team in Port Elizabeth. This role is focused on the design, synthesis, and application of nanomaterials for cutting-edge technological advancements. You will lead key research projects, mentor junior scientists, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate nanoscale discoveries into practical applications. • Lead research efforts in the synthesis, characterization, and application of novel nanomaterials, including quantum dots, nanoparticles, and nanocomposites.
• Design and execute experiments using advanced techniques such as electron microscopy (TEM, SEM), atomic force microscopy (AFM), and X-ray diffraction (XRD).
• Develop scalable fabrication processes for nanostructured materials and devices.
• Analyze and interpret complex experimental data, correlating nanoscale properties with macroscopic performance.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to integrate nanomaterials into new product designs and applications in Port Elizabeth.

• Ph.D. in Materials Science, Chemistry, Physics, or a related field with a strong emphasis on nanotechnology.
• Minimum of 7 years of research experience in nanotechnology, with a focus on material synthesis and characterization.
• Proficiency in a wide range of nanotechnology characterization tools and techniques.
• Experience in modeling and simulation of nanoscale phenomena is a plus.
