Research Fellow - Molecular Biology

Our client is seeking a dedicated and inquisitive Research Fellow to contribute to their dynamic molecular biology research group in Port Elizabeth . This postdoctoral position offers an excellent opportunity to conduct original research in a supportive and collaborative academic environment, focusing on unraveling fundamental biological processes or exploring novel therapeutic targets. The fellow will be responsible for designing, executing, and analyzing experiments, contributing to publications, and presenting findings at scientific meetings.

• Design, perform, and meticulously document experiments in molecular biology techniques, including gene cloning, PCR, qPCR, Western blotting, and cell culture.
• Analyze and interpret experimental data using appropriate statistical methods and software.
• Contribute to the writing and submission of manuscripts to peer-reviewed scientific journals.
• Present research findings at internal lab meetings, departmental seminars, and national/international scientific conferences.
• Collaborate effectively with other lab members and research staff on ongoing projects.
• Maintain laboratory equipment and ensure compliance with safety protocols in Port Elizabeth .

• Ph.D. in Molecular Biology , Biochemistry, Genetics, or a related life science discipline.
• Strong hands-on experience with fundamental molecular biology laboratory techniques is essential.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot experimental issues.
• Good written and verbal communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to write scientific reports and publications.
