About the Role
Our client is actively seeking a motivated Research Scientist with a strong background in Molecular Biology to join their dynamic research and development team in Port Elizabeth . This role is essential for conducting innovative experiments, contributing to the discovery and development of new therapeutic targets. You will be responsible for designing, executing, and analyzing experiments that advance our client's scientific understanding and pipeline.
Working in a well-equipped laboratory, you will collaborate with a team of experienced scientists, contributing to projects that have a direct impact on human health. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, possesses excellent technical skills, and is passionate about molecular science and its applications.
- Design and perform molecular biology experiments, including PCR, qPCR, cloning, Western blotting, and cell culture.
- Analyze and interpret experimental data, troubleshoot technical issues, and optimize protocols as needed.
- Contribute to the development of new assays and methodologies to support research objectives.
- Maintain accurate and detailed laboratory notebooks and prepare scientific reports.
- Collaborate with team members on project goals and present findings in lab meetings.
- Ensure compliance with laboratory safety protocols and good laboratory practices (GLP).
- Ph.D. or Master's degree in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Genetics, or a related life science discipline.
- 3-5 years of hands-on laboratory experience in molecular biology techniques.
- Proficiency in standard molecular biology techniques and instrumentation.
- Experience with data analysis software and interpretation of biological data.
