CORE PURPOSE OF JOB

This position is responsible for product, market and retail operations and development of the University Shop as a self-sustaining institutional brand development unit.

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS
  • Market Research and Stakeholder Engagement as related University branded products environment.
  • Product Development of branded items and unique institutional offerings.
  • Efficient management of procurement processes and stock.
  • Development and management of efficient retail outlets (Main shop and sites) and online platform.
  • Marketing and communication management of the Shop and its products and services.
  • Efficient human resources, financial and general management of the University Shop, outlets and platforms.

  • Ability to multi-task, delegate, manage time, and work under pressure.
  • Attention to detail, accuracy, and customer service excellence.
  • Ability to prepare, analyse, interpret and report financial information.

  • Good public relations and marketing skills.
  • Strong computer skills (MS products: Word, Powerpoint, Excel, Databases, web design).
  • Good understanding of Point of Sale (POS) systems.
  • Good understanding of digital communication platforms.
    • REQUIREMENTS
  • A three year post matric / tertiary qualification (M+3).
  • A 3-5 years retail management experience involving all the relevant functional areas.
  • A valid driver’s licence.
  • Reliable own transport essential.
