Retail Loss Prevention Officer

Our client is looking for a vigilant and observant Retail Loss Prevention Officer to safeguard their store in Port Elizabeth . This role is essential in minimizing shrinkage and protecting company assets by proactively identifying and deterring theft and fraud. You will be responsible for monitoring store activity, apprehending suspected shoplifters when necessary, and implementing security protocols to ensure a safe environment for both customers and staff.

The ideal candidate is discreet, analytical, and possesses strong integrity.

• Monitor store activities to detect and prevent shoplifting and internal theft.
• Observe and report suspicious behaviour to management and law enforcement when required.
• Apprehend and process suspected shoplifters according to company policy and legal guidelines.
• Conduct regular security audits and implement corrective actions to reduce vulnerabilities.
• Assist in investigations of inventory discrepancies and policy violations.
• Educate store staff on loss prevention techniques and procedures.

• Previous experience in loss prevention , security, or law enforcement is highly desirable.
• Strong observational skills and the ability to remain calm and decisive under pressure.
• Knowledge of relevant laws and legal procedures pertaining to apprehension and detention.
• Excellent report writing and documentation skills.
• Physical ability to perform duties such as standing for extended periods and potential apprehension.
• High school diploma or equivalent required; further certification in security is a plus.
