About the Role
Our client is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Youth Mentor and Support Officer to guide and empower young people in the Port Elizabeth community. This role focuses on providing positive role modeling, academic support, and life skills development to help youth navigate challenges and achieve their potential. You will work collaboratively within the Eastern Cape , connecting with young individuals, their families, and relevant community organizations to foster a supportive environment.

- Provide one-on-one mentorship and guidance to young individuals, focusing on personal development and goal setting.
- Facilitate workshops and group sessions on life skills, such as communication, problem-solving, and financial literacy.
- Assist youth in accessing educational and vocational opportunities, including homework help and career exploration.
- Serve as a positive role model, demonstrating constructive behaviors and attitudes.
- Collaborate with parents, guardians, schools, and other community partners to create a supportive network for youth.
- Monitor youth progress, document interventions, and report on program outcomes.
- A degree or diploma in Social Work, Psychology, Education, or a related field.
- Experience working directly with young people in a mentoring, counseling, or support capacity.
- Strong communication, active listening, and motivational skills.
- Knowledge of adolescent development and common challenges faced by youth.
- Ability to build rapport and trust with diverse young populations.
- Flexibility to work some evenings and weekends for program activities.
