We are looking for an Intermediate Software Developer who is passionate about game development and eager to grow into a dedicated game developer role. The successful candidate will bring solid software engineering foundations and a demonstrated personal interest in game development, evidenced through projects, prototypes or self-directed work using Unreal Engine 5.

This is an opportunity for a competent developer to transition into game development within a professional environment. We value drive, curiosity and the ability to learn rapidly over a strict background in commercial game titles. You will work alongside a small team to build, iterate and ship interactive experiences while growing your game development skills in a structured setting.

Responsibilities
  • Develop gameplay features, systems and tooling using Unreal Engine 5, working in Blueprint and/or C++ depending on the requirements.
  • Collaborate with designers and other developers to implement and iterate on game mechanics, player interactions and content pipelines.
  • Write clean, maintainable and well-documented code that meets team standards and can be extended over the product lifecycle.
  • Debug and profile game builds to identify and resolve performance issues, logic errors and unexpected behaviour.
  • Participate in design discussions, sprint planning and reviews, contributing both technical input and creative perspective.
  • Integrate assets and systems from content creators into the engine, ensuring correctness and performance targets are met.
  • Research Unreal Engine features, community solutions and industry approaches to solve development challenges.
  • Contribute to internal tooling, editor extensions or automation where it improves team efficiency.
  • Support testing efforts by writing test cases, reproducing bugs and assisting with quality assurance processes.
Core Technical Focus Areas
  • Unreal Engine 5 development using Blueprint and/or C++
  • General software engineering in C++ or similar compiled languages
  • Game systems design and implementation
  • Performance profiling and optimisation within a real‑time engine context
  • Version control and collaborative development workflows
Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 3+ years of solid general software development experience with strong proficiency in at least one compiled language.
  • Demonstrated competency in Unreal Engine 5 through personal projects, prototypes, or portfolio of work.
  • Ability to work with both Blueprint visual scripting and C++ within Unreal Engine 5, or a clear willingness and ability to develop proficiency in both.
  • Familiarity with Unreal Engine systems such as the Gameplay Ability System, Enhanced Input, Data Assets, Niagara or similar.
  • Understanding of core software engineering principles including object‑oriented design, memory management and performance‑aware programming.
  • Experience with Git or similar version control systems in a collaborative setting.
  • Strong problem‑solving ability and a hands‑on approach to learning new tools and systems.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a small cross‑functional team.
  • Genuine enthusiasm for game development and interactive experiences.
  • Willingness to learn engine‑specific patterns and workflows that may differ from general software development.
  • Ability to take ownership of assigned features and see them through from implementation to a shippable state.
  • Comfortable receiving and applying feedback in a collaborative creative and technical environment.
  • Curiosity about how games work at a systems level, not only at a feature or surface level.
  • Ability to manage time effectively across multiple concurrent tasks in a sprint‑based environment.
Work Environment, Benefits and Perks
  • Industry‑related remuneration depending on experience.
  • Medical Aid.
  • Pension fund with employer matching.
  • Flexible work hours with hybrid working options and many more benefits.
  • Opportunities for professional development and career growth.
