Senior Computer Vision Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a talented and innovative Senior Computer Vision Engineer to join their advanced technology division in Port Elizabeth. This role is central to developing and implementing state-of-the-art computer vision systems that power intelligent applications and products. You will work on challenging problems related to image and video analysis, contributing directly to the company's technological edge. • Design, develop, and optimize computer vision algorithms for applications such as object detection, tracking, recognition, and image segmentation.
• Implement and fine-tune deep learning models using frameworks like Tensor Flow or PyTorch for image and video processing tasks.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including software engineers and product managers, to integrate computer vision solutions into products.
• Conduct thorough testing and validation of computer vision systems to ensure accuracy, performance, and robustness.
• Research and evaluate new computer vision techniques and technologies to enhance existing capabilities and explore novel applications.
• Contribute to the entire product development lifecycle, from conceptualization and prototyping to deployment and maintenance of computer vision systems.

• Master's or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field with a focus on Computer Vision or Machine Learning.
• 5+ years of hands-on experience in computer vision development and implementation.
• Strong proficiency in C++ and/or Python, and experience with relevant libraries (e.g., OpenCV, scikit-image).
• Expertise in deep learning frameworks such as Tensor Flow, PyTorch, or Keras.
• Solid understanding of image processing, pattern recognition, and machine learning fundamentals.
• Experience with hardware acceleration for computer vision applications is a plus.
