We are seeking a Senior Site Safety Officer to lead safety efforts on a project in Port Hope. This role requires a seasoned professional who can take ownership of site safety, provide leadership, and act as a trusted advisor to both clients and project teams. You will play a critical role in driving safety strategy, mentoring others, and ensuring regulatory compliance at a high level.
Key Responsibilities
Lead development and execution of site-specific safety programs
Oversee inspections, audits, and compliance activities
Provide expert guidance to project leadership and stakeholders
Lead incident investigations and root cause analysis
Act as primary liaison with regulatory agencies (e.g., Ministry of Labour)
Mentor and support junior safety personnel (if applicable)
Participate in high-level planning meetings and risk assessments
Qualifications & Experience
Minimum 7–10 years of construction safety experience or Nuclear
NCSO designation strongly preferred
Advanced knowledge of OHSA and applicable regulations
Proven leadership and stakeholder management experience
Strong analytical, reporting, and problem-solving skills
Ability to influence and drive safety culture on complex projects
