We are a licensed General and Electrical Contractor, who primarily does Federal Construction Contracts. We are seeking a Project SSHO (Site Safety Health Officer) to manage, administer and coordinate all facets of the site-specific safety program for the construction project project we are hiring for at this time is an approximately $33M Complete Hangar Renovation, relevant experience is HIGHLY preferred.

- General Contractor experience preferred
- Ability to oversee ALL TRADES
- Ability to Read Plans and Articulate Job Scope

- Exemplary organizational and follow-up skills
- Ability to juggle many tasks and meet deadlines
- Proficiency with Word, Excel, Outlook, and Adobe Acrobat
- Knowledge of Procore and Primavera 6 a plus
- 5 - 7 years' experience working on USACE and/or NAVFAC construction projects as an SSHO
- OSHA 30, EM 385 1.1, First Aid/CPR Certifications
- EM-385 1-1 - 40HR Certification
- 24 Hours of continuing safety training every year
- Must be able to pass DoD security clearance for base access
- Valid driver’s license with good motor vehicle record
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus
- Review, read and interpret architectural drawings and specifications (Required)
- Review and understand contract and bid documents
- Support all pre-construction activities
- Meet and collaborate with clients, engineers, subs, as well as our team
- Evaluate progress and prepare detailed daily safety reports
- Ensure adherence to all health and safety standards and report issues
- Support company operations in the office and in the field
- Maintain a safe work site by implementing good housekeeping regulations and safety requirements, enforcing safe work habits and observing OSHA and any state-level agencies’ regulations.
- Be aware of ever-changing applicable building codes and OSHA requirements. Achieve the highest quality work
- Conduct detailed inspections during and after each trade has completed its tasks and before any work is authorized for payment.
- Manage project close-out and final documentation
- Create, update, and maintain the project safety log and all other project specific safety meetings and reports
- Chair and document weekly (at minimum) site safety meetings with the superintendent, and provide written minutes and signed reports by all attendees
- Provide DETAILED daily safety reports that reinforce activities that are being constructed in conformance with each specific project's established standard and constructively confronts any non-conformance to produce the desired outcome in a timely manner
- In tandem with the QC Manager conduct the aspects of the preparatory, initial, and follow-up meetings to establish an understanding of the safety standards required for each definable feature of work via the applicable AHA's
- Conduct pre-construction safety meetings with new and existing subcontractors and the superintendent at least two days prior to the start of each new phase of the work to discuss issues that affect quality
- Stop work if necessary to resolve matters that affect safety, quality progress of work
- VALID EM-385 1-1 40HR _ Certification a MUST
