SummaryThe Operations Supervisor (1st Shift) position at Port Hueneme, CA is responsible for planning, coordinating, and directing all production‑related activities associated with the site to ensure continuous production. Responsibilities- Direct Operational and Production‑Related Activities
- Meet production goals
- Resolve unusual or non‑scheduled customer requests and provide creative ideas to overcome workflow challenges
- Implement and maintain safe work practices
- Supervise full‑time and temporary employees, oversee and instruct on proper vehicle processing procedures
- Hire employees, schedule work, and oversee performance‑management initiatives
- Ensure employees are accurately clocking in and out
- Optimize work schedules to match staffing levels, create assignments, and monitor progress to improve process efficiency
- Coordinate with other departments and customers to meet production goals
- Observe employees to ensure safety and productivity procedures are followed; document and discuss Purpose of results with employees
- Confer with other supervisors to coordinate operations within or between departments
- Production Reporting
- Provide periodic updates of vehicle processing tender goals to meet customer deadlines
- Perform administrative activities, including reviewing and providing status reportsšlo next‑level management
- Read and analyze charts, work orders, production schedules, and other records to determine production requirements and evaluate current production estimates and outputs
- Respond courteously to customer service inquiries, requests, or complaints
- Investig nuis accidents, injuries, or property damage claims on behalf of management
- Special projects as assigned and cover other areas of production as needed
- Safety & Compliance
- Respond to unsafe conditions or hazardous waste
- Recommend measures to protect workers from hazardous work methods, processes, or materials
- Inspect or evaluate workplace environments, equipment, and practices to ensure compliance with safety standards and government regulations
- Enforce safety and sanitation regulations
