Duties
  • Assist higher graded mobile equipment mechanics in disassembling and repairing major systems, components, and complex operating mechanisms.
  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, remove, adjust, modify, repair, or replace defective components in sub-systems.
  • Repair, overhaul, and rebuild attachments and other utility systems.
  • Disassemble diesel or gasoline engines as necessary and inspect repairs or replace such parts.
  • Repair equipment such as clutches, transmission systems, hydraulic systems, cooling systems, electrical systems, booms, and similar units.
Qualifications

Screen-out element: The ability to do the work of the position without more than normal supervision. Applicants who do not receive a minimum of two points on the screen-out element(s) will be found ineligible. The minimum eligibility requires the ability to perform common tasks including:

  • Diagnosing, troubleshooting, and evaluating heavy mobile construction and maritime equipment.
  • Maintaining, repairing, and overhauling heavy mobile equipment.
  • Assembling and disassembling diesel and gasoline engines.

This position is covered by the Department of Defense Priority Placement Program. Several vacancies may be filled.
