Part-time Recreation Administrative Assistant
THE CITY OF PORT HURON IS CURRENTLY ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS FOR THE FOLLOWING PART-TIME EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY:
PART-TIME RECREATION ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT
Assist the Recreation Supervisor with the following:
- Fiscal, purchasing and budget tracking.
- Planning and working Special Events.
- Promoting programs and Special Events.
- Updating and maintaining records.
- Preparing communications, such as, letters, memos, emails, invoices, reports and other correspondence.
- Answer the telephone and direct inquiries to the appropriate person(s) or department.
- Provide information to callers and visitors regarding Special Events, park programs, park policies and park amenities.
Desirable Qualifications include:
- Computer knowledge in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel and Outlook).
- Knowledge of BS&A, Rec Pro, Zoom and Canva Software desired.
- Knowledge of general office practices and procedures.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
- Basic knowledge of marketing and social media.
- Ability to prepare accurate records and reports.
- Ability to plan and organize.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, multi-task and prioritize.
- Graduation from an accredited high school required. Additional college courses in Business, Recreation or other related field desired.
- Current, valid Michigan Operator’s Driver License required.
Working Hours:
- Up to 29 hours per week, Monday – Friday, between 8:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.
Salary: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour
Benefit Package: Does not include a benefit package
