Wages: $18.57 – $20.12 per hour

The Financial Reporting Specialist is responsible for preparing, analyzing, and delivering accurate financial reports that support strategic decision-making and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.

Duties and Responsibilities – Job Specific
  • Internal Monitoring:
    Review and analyze financial reports and correct/make adjustments with journal entries as needed.
  • Reporting:
    Prepare and submit monthly, quarterly and annual reports to funders, state, federal and local tax agencies. Prepare monthly financial statements for the Board of Directors. Prepare other reports as needed.
  • Budgets:
    Work with executive and program directors to prepare program budgets. Prepare annual budget for the Board.
  • Audit:
    Coordinate with audit firm to prepare and complete annual financial audit. Assist with completion of all annual schedules and preliminary financial statements.
  • Monitoring:
    Collaborate with external monitors to ensure compliance and quality by maintaining accurate documentation, participating in reviews, responding to findings with corrective actions, and using feedback for continuous improvement.
  • Accounts Payable:
    Review requisition requests to ensure sufficient funding and allowability. Ensure 1099s are prepared accurately and timely.
  • Support:
    Back up Finance Specialist as needed.
  • Cash Receipts:
    Prepare bank deposits and enter all cash receipts both manual and electronic into the accounting system.
  • Banking:
    Ensure bank statements are reconciled monthly. Take deposits to the bank in a timely manner. Verify the agency has sufficient funds to cover all checks and payroll.
  • Other:
    Additional duties as assigned.

    Understand and meet organizational goals/objectives related to position including agency strategic plan, ROMA plan, as well as taking on duties that are not related to position as supports for management staff/support staff to reach goals/objectives. Management:

    Effectively communicate with other staff, clients, partners, and the public in a manner that is tactful, sensitive, and respectful. Demonstrate active listening. Demonstrates friendly, positive “can do” attitude. Oral and written communications are clear, concise and accurate. Keep team members informed and follow appropriate channels for communication.
  • Confidentiality:
    Maintain confidentiality of client and organizational information. Share information only with authorized personnel.
  • Improvement:
    Continually improve skills through a variety of opportunities external and internal with particular attention to goals set related to improvement. Improve outcomes results of assessments related to job position, client outcomes, and organizational goals. Attend training opportunities as available.
  • Compliance to Policy:
    Understand and comply with current organization, regulatory and funding policies and procedures.
  • Qualifications
  • Associate’s degree in accounting or related field.
  • Must be bondable.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience working with low-income individuals.
