Clinic - Intake Representative

• Interviews the patient or representative to obtain identifying and verifying information (name, address, age, date of birth, social security number, occupation, insurance information) and to obtain authorization.
• Operates a computer to input and retrieve data.
• Files patient reports and retrieves patient records.
• Demonstrates effective telephone etiquette and greets patients and visitors politely and courteously.
• Multi‑tasks to manage an efficient workflow.
• Uses age‑specific techniques to communicate with the population served (neonatal, pediatrics, adolescents, young adults, middle adulthood, geriatrics).
• Maintains proficiency in medical terminology.
• Completes special projects or other assignments within specified time frames.

• Previous experience as a medical office assistant within a medical clinic or similar experience preferred.
• Knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
