Position: Customs Operations Supervisor
Job Location: Port Huron, MI
We have an exciting opportunity for a Customs Operations Supervisor to supervise a team of Customs Operations Specialists/Clerks and coordinate all customs clearance activities.

- Manage productivity and drive initiatives for efficiency improvements.
- Identify training needs and opportunities to develop a highly skilled Customs Operations team.
- Ensure all assignments are completed in a timely and efficient manner.
- Support KPI achievements by monitoring and driving performance evaluations of team members.
- Ensure operational adherence to compliance standards of federal and foreign regulations governing shipment, receipt, and documentation of imported/exported products.
- Ensure operational adherence to defined processing standards.
- Handle escalations (e.g., disputes with internal or external customers).
- Interact with Customer Service, Product, and Global Service Centers as required.
- Supervise a large team of associate-level employees or lower-level employees in customs clearance activities within the customs house brokerage or gateway environment efficiently and cost-effectively.
- Establish, monitor, and revise policies, procedures, and service standards for customs clearance operations.
- Administer all policies and procedures consistently.
- Meet key performance indicator targets for a given product.
- Hire, coach, train, and develop subordinate staff.
- Assign work, set completion dates, review work, and manage performance in accordance with organizational policies and performance management processes.
- Recommend process improvements and develop solutions to operational issues.
- Maintain steady workflow and productivity, meeting service/productivity standards, and resolve operational problems.
- Provide guidance, training, and input to human resources decisions such as hiring, firing, layoffs, promotions, and rewards.
- Manage overtime and ensure majority of time focuses on supervising employees who perform service, production, or support work.
- Interact with contacts outside the company such as customer representatives, vendors, or industry groups.
- Complete understanding and wide application of principles, theories, and concepts in the functional or business area.
- Advanced understanding of specific aspects of supervised work and practical application to common problems and situations.
- Knowledge of quality and productivity improvement practices, training, budgeting, cost control, and progressive techniques.
- Basic supervisory approaches for work direction, motivation, and disciplinary action.
- 3-5 years of experience in a related area of responsibility.
Pay Range: $62,475.00 - $83,300.00+ (Based on Experience)
