American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery with Postpartum position requiring 4+ years of rural healthcare experience and a TX or compact RN license.
Requirements- Active TX or compact RN license required
- Minimum 4 years of experience required
- Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, and NRP
- Rural healthcare experience required
- Strong assessment skills required
- Electronic Fetal Monitoring (EFM) skills required
- Critical access hospital with a 25-bed capacity Level 1 Maternal and Neonatal Care unit
- Department covers Labor and Delivery, Postpartum, Nursery, and Lactation
- Department typically staffed with 2 nurses, with most staff cross-trained in L&D, PP, and nursery roles
- Patient population includes a large transient community due to area plant construction
- Averages 15-20 deliveries per month
- Uses OBIX EMR system
- 12-hour night shift schedule, 7p-7a
- Rotating weekends and holidays required
- Provide comprehensive care across Labor and Delivery, Postpartum, Nursery, and Lactation services
- Facility located centrally with a 2-3 hour drive to Houston, San Antonio, Austin, and Corpus Christi
- Housing in the area can be challenging due to local construction and tourism, with RV accommodations noted as a popular option among travelers
