Agilus by Synergie is recruiting for a Health and Safety (H&S) Field Safety Advisor in the Oil and Gas Sector in Port Moody, British Columbia.
As a dynamic member of our operations, projects and maintenance teams, you will support the development, implementation, and sustainment of H&S practices and provide technical expertise and innovative solutions.
Key Information- Total rewards: $71.00 – $77.00 hourly

Hours:
40 hours per week, 7:00a.m. – 3:30p.m., no overtime - Contract: One-year with possible extension
- Participate in safety meetings and contractor toolbox talks
- Conduct worksite safety assessments, including Critical Control Assessments and Enablon Inspection Checklists to ensure compliance with critical safety controls and protocols
- Provide feedback and coaching to address safety gaps
- Ensure hazards are identified and controls are in place during work activities
- Assess contractor worker qualifications for safety training and competencies
- Assess implementation of high‑risk safety standards in the field (e.g., confined space entry, working at heights)
- Deliver just‑in‑time coaching to field personnel for unsafe practices
- Report identified hazards, high‑risk gaps or persistent trends to leadership
- Assist incident investigations when requested by the incident owner
- Support contractor management and ensure contractors follow management documents
- Identify potential hazards for planned work activities
- Guide contractors in complying with safety regulations and standards
- Assist in developing comprehensive health and safety plans for contractors
- Collaborate on the creation of detailed health and safety plans, including exposure control, ventilation, etc.
- Attend work‑related meetings to provide safety support
- 10 years of proven safety experience in high‑risk work settings, preferably within the oil and gas industry
- Recognized safety certification (e.g., CRSP, CRST, CSO), diploma or degree in OHS, or demonstrated EH&S competency supported by relevant experience
- Strong understanding of safety regulatory requirements, especially British Columbia Worksafe
- Excellent time‑management and organizational skills, able to manage multiple priorities
- Effective listener who seeks to understand the safety support needs of the Production Unit and communicates standards and regulatory requirements
- Experience promoting a culture of reporting, learning and continuous improvement
- Strong written and oral communication skills, able to interact with all levels of leadership
