DBM CPA

() is a boutique CPA firm uniquely offering a hybrid of public practice solutions (private enterprise, taxation, full-cycle accounting), fractional CFO, and consulting services. DBM CPA was founded over 40 years ago and has been operating in Port Moody since 2019.

We have created a corporate culture that prioritizes work-life balance and employee well-being, and rejects the endless overtime commonly associated with public practice “busy season”.

  • Skilled at juggling multiple client engagements.
  • Able to communicate effectively with clients and coworkers.
  • Ready to take full ownership of our portfolio of clients from Day 1.
Responsibilities and Expectations
  • Prepare and file T1 personal tax returns, T2 corporate tax returns (public and private companies), and T3 trust income tax returns.
  • Prepare and file other miscellaneous tax forms (T4, T4A, T5, etc.).
  • Prepare and file foreign reporting forms (T106, T1134, T1135).
  • Conduct tax research on issues of varying complexity, in support of our firm’s private enterprise and public company divisions.
  • Prepare Case Ware Working Papers files and financial statements for various compilation and review engagements for small owner-managed businesses.
  • Assist clients with preparing timely and accurate responses to CRA audits and reviews.
  • Prepare and file flow-through corporate tax forms (T100, T101, and related) for publicly-traded companies in the junior resource sector.
  • Prepare and review deferred income tax provisions and ensure their accurate presentation in financial statement note disclosures (for publicly traded companies).
  • Prepare GST returns and respond to CRA audits and reviews as necessary.
  • Be prepared to communicate with clients regarding basic estate planning strategies.
Requirements and

  • Experience with Case Ware, Tax Prep, and Quick Books.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to remain current with new tax legislation.
  • Strong tax analytical skills, including the ability to identify, research, and advise on tax issues.
