Community-Focused Public Health Nurse

In your role as a Public Health Nurse, you will apply principles of community development and health promotion in various outreach settings. Collaborating with interdisciplinary teams, you will work on initiatives that target health improvements across population groups. Your work will include client assessments and managing communicable disease follow-ups, all while supporting health literacy and prevention strategies.

Key Responsibilities:

• Administer immunizations to prevent vaccine-preventable conditions

• Track and respond to communicable diseases per protocol

• Provide prenatal and family support services

• Engage in community health presentations and programs

• Maintain thorough records of nursing interventions and outcomes

Requirements:

• Registered with BCCNM as a practicing RN

• Graduation from an accredited nursing program required

• Minimum six months of public health nursing experience

• Access to a personal vehicle and valid BC Driver's license

• Demonstrated knowledge of harm reduction practices
