As the Security Guard at Securiguard, you will take on a varied and dynamic role that involves securing client properties by locking and unlocking gates, conducting thorough foot and vehicle patrols, responding swiftly to alarms and emergencies, and safely removing unauthorized individuals. No day is the same in this fast‑paced position. This role provides valuable exposure to real‑world security operations, including regular collaboration with police and emergency services.
Through incident response, patrol duties, detailed report writing, and rotating shift work, you will gain practical experience that supports a future career in security or law enforcement.
- Secure premises by locking and unlocking gates, doors, and other access points as per client protocols.
- Conduct mobile and/or foot patrols, maintaining a static presence on sites across multiple client properties.
- Respond promptly to several types of emergencies, including fire alarms, elevator entrapments, and intrusion alarms.
- Remove unauthorized individuals from premises while maintaining safety and professionalism.
- Enforce property rules, city by‑laws, and applicable legislation.
- Maintain a visible, approachable presence to promote safety and provide customer service to patrons and clients.
- Complete detailed incident reports, daily security book entries, and maintain accurate records of patrols and activities.
- Report any safety hazards, equipment malfunctions, or unusual activity.
- Adhere to company policies, safety standards, and site‑specific procedures.
- BC Security License (BST)
- Class 5 Driver's License with clean driver's abstract and claims history.
- Minimum of 1 year of security industry experience.
- Minimum of 1 year of driving experience in the Lower Mainland.
- Access to personal vehicle and/or ability to travel to site (Port Moody).
- $18/hr
- 8 hour shifts
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Reliable, independent, and a strong team player
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work in a fast‑paced, customer‑oriented environment.
