Job Overview

The mechanic will be responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining fleet road equipment including tractors, trailers, thermo-king units, converter dollies, and maintenance vehicles. Responsibilities include ensuring compliance with all trucking regulations, maintaining accurate maintenance logs, and performing road rescue as needed.

Key Responsibilities
  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, rebuild, replace, and complete repairs on diesel equipment (tractors, trailers, reefers, etc.).
  • Perform preventative maintenance according to company standards.
  • Document all repairs, parts used, and maintenance activities.
  • Handle road service calls and perform road rescue operations.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment, adhering to safety regulations.
  • Manage inventory and maintain proper records.
  • Backup other maintenance personnel as needed.
  • Willingness to assume increased responsibilities and obtain certifications.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Minimum 3 years of verifiable hands-on experience as a heavy-duty diesel or reefer mechanic, or 2 years with Diesel Mechanic Certification or TK/Carrier Refrigeration Certification.
  • Diagnostic and troubleshooting skills.
  • Experience with preventative maintenance programs.
  • Own personal hand tools.
  • CDL A and DOT certification preferred.
  • Knowledge of EPA and OSHA regulations.
  • Ability to read technical manuals and communicate effectively.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends, and overtime when needed.

  • Computer proficiency.
