Aboutthe Role
The Director of Finance ensures integrity of the business plan, including loan, deposit, and liquidity forecasts, and develops financial contingency plans. This role manages asset/liability management, balance sheet and liquidity strategy, investment portfolio analysis, budgeting, reporting, and pricing models. The Director actively participates in planning, controlling, and overseeing the credit union’s finance reporting systems to support financial decision‑making and improve operational excellence.

- Perform financial forecasting and budgeting, projecting the balance sheet and income statement, reporting results, and monitoring operating metrics and trends.
- Report actual vs. budget performance and prepare reports for management and Board of Directors review.
- Contribute to improvements of the overall budget and forecasting process; own components of the annual financial plan and underlying budget.
- Analyze costs, activities, operations, and forecast data to determine departmental progress toward stated goals.
- Oversee the preparation of financial reports, including reviews, analysis, and interpretations.
- Establish projects and goals for each area of responsibility and track performance.
- Contribute to the development and execution of balance sheet and liquidity strategies.
- Prepare and contribute to asset/liability and finance committee materials.
- Contribute to the maintenance and execution of an investment strategy aligned with overall balance sheet and liquidity strategies.
- Own other ad‑hoc analysis as needed, including mergers and acquisitions.
- Work closely with external vendor to prepare quarterly interest rate risk update, evaluating exposure and alternative strategies.
