RN Freestanding Emergency Department
Virginia Mason Franciscan Health is seeking a compassionate and experienced Registered Nurse to join our state‑of‑the‑art free‑standing emergency department. We are committed to providing high‑quality, patient‑centered care in a fast‑paced and dynamic environment.
LocationPort Orchard, Washington.
Responsibilities- Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients presenting with a wide range of medical emergencies, including but not limited to: cardiac issues, respiratory distress, neurological events, gastrointestinal issues, and musculoskeletal injuries.
- Conduct thorough patient assessments, including vital signs, medical history, and physical examination.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans in collaboration with physicians and other healthcare professionals.
- Administer medications, perform procedures, and monitor patient responses to treatment.
- Educate patients and families about their condition, treatment plan, and discharge instructions.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient care in electronic medical records.
- Collaborate effectively with other members of the healthcare team, including physicians, nurses, technicians, and support staff.
- Adhere to all hospital policies and procedures, including infection control and safety protocols.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and professional development activities.

- Graduation from an accredited school of nursing, BSN preferred.
- Minimum 6 months previous RN experience preferred.
- Previous emergency experience or critical care experience within the last 2 years preferred.
- Current licensure as a Registered Nurse issued by the Washington State Board of Nursing.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Certification within sixty days of hire, and maintained as current thereafter.
- Current BLS Certification from the American Heart Association. This location requires quarterly American Heart Association (AHA) Resuscitation Quality Improvement (RQI) competency certification post‑hire, with internal resources only.
- Completion of a Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) class within twelve months of hire and maintained as current thereafter.
- Trauma Nurse Core Curriculum (TNCC) within twelve months of hire; certification must be maintained as current thereafter.
- National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification within six months of hire, and maintained as current thereafter.
- Emergency Nurse Pediatric Certification (ENPC) or Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) within twelve months of hire; certification(s) must be maintained as current thereafter.
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) and/or Certified Emergency Nurse (CEN) certification is preferred.
$42.43 - $71.67 /hour
