About the PositionAs a Nursing Assistant Certified, you will assist in the delivery of nursing and related care to veterans in the Washington Veterans Home. The role includes bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, eating, feeding, monitoring vital signs, documenting care, performing basic nursing procedures, and maintaining a safe, sanitary environment.
Key Responsibilities- Assist residents with bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, eating, and meal feeding.
- Perform range‑of‑motion exercises and observe/ report changes in resident condition to licensed personnel.
- Accurately obtain and record vital signs and other resident data.
- Document intake and output records; maintain accurate health records.
- Perform basic nursing procedures such as anti‑embolism stockings and skin care.
- Dispose of contaminated waste appropriately.
- Keep the facility environment safe, clean and orderly.
- Clean bedpans, washbasins, urinals, commodes, beds and night stands.
- Valid Washington state license as a Nursing Assistant Certified.
- Active OBRA registry status.
- Proficient in English (read, write, speak).
- Ability to perform data entry and maintain confidentiality.
- Must comply with annual tuberculin screening and BCCU background check.
- Must be able to lift up to 60 lbs. and reach minimum 36” using proper technique.
- Maintain current NAC license, CPR, and participate in required training.
- Long‑term care experience.
