QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
The qualifications and skill requirements for this position include:- Bachelor degree in Nursing;
- Current Florida license as a Registered Nurse;
- Minimum of two (2) years of proven experience in clinical nursing practice in an acute care setting;
- Current/active CPR certification;
- Two (2) years of teaching/clinical coordination experience with proficiency in instruction, curriculum design, accreditation and experience in academic/clinical coordination;
- Experience with program coordination at a branch campus; use of virtual and simulation, and lab coordination.
- Instructional experience in Practical Nursing.
- Must have current knowledge of nursing to provide patient care safely and competently within the scope of practice set forth by the Florida Board of Nursing;
- Proficiency in the use of technology for classroom and clinical instruction;
- Proficiency in the use of technologies including but not limited to:
Blackboard platform, distance education modalities, and Microsoft Office applications; - Must meet the appropriate credentialing requirements for the Southern Association for Colleges and Schools (SACS).
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The essential job functions and responsibilities for this position include but are not limited to:- Both classroom instructional/clinical supervision of nursing program courses and the design and the development of the Nursing Programs;
- Designing curriculum in collaboration with department chair for nursing courses;
- Organizing and providing educational experience leading to student credentialing and gainful employment in nursing positions;
- Contributing to the recruitment and retention of students;
- Instructing in the clinical curriculum;
- Liaison with the health care agencies;
- Serve as a professional nurse role model;
- Actively participating in the nursing accreditation process;
- Serving the community;
- Serving effectively on college committees;
