A Safety Coordinator focuses on health and safety issues, such as preventing workplace accidents. A Safety Coordinator, or Safety Specialist, helps improve the overall safety of the workplace. Their duties include assessing safety, enforcing safety standards and educating employees.

MUST HAVE PREVIOUS SAFETY EXPERIENCE

ELECTRICAL EXPERIENCE OR BACKGROUND A MUST

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Planning your health and safety program and protocols
  • Teaching supervisors, managers and other leaders in the company about health and safety standards
  • Presenting safety training sessions to the company
  • Ensuring compliance with OSHA, federal and state regulations
  • Handling risk assessments to gather information on safety issues
  • Verifying that employees consistently follow safety protocols
  • Analyzing health and safety data
  • Reviewing and recommending changes to regular activities
  • Duties will involve morning paperwork and walking the site looking for safety hazards and enforcing safety.
  • Work schedule would be Monday-Friday 7:00AM to 7:00PM / Saturday 7:00AM-3:30PM

Requirements and

Qualifications:

  • MUST HAVE MINIMUM OSHA 30
  • MUST HAVE PREVIOUS SAFETY EXPERIENCE
  • ELECTRICAL EXPERIENCE OR BACKGROUND A MUST
  • Basic knowledge of safety protocols (fall protection, ladder safety, lock out tag out, exc.)
  • Understanding of OSHA guidelines and other state and local safety regulations
  • Familiarity with the tools, machines and equipment used in the workplace
  • Attention to detail
  • Critical thinking, analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to teach others the established safety standards
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Computer literacy skills and comfort with various types of technology used in the industry
  • Ability to work well as a team and interact with different groups of people
