Indian River State College is seeking an imaginative and mission‑driven Artificial Intelligence Solutions Architect to help shape the future of how our College uses AI to support students, empower employees, and strengthen the learning experience. Job Summary

Under the direction of established administrative guidelines, this position is charged with guiding the strategic implementation, assessment, and expansion of AI systems throughout the College that are intended to advance institutional priorities by improving academic quality, enhancing operational efficiency, and supporting student achievement. Responsibilities include translating the College’s strategic vision into measurable and actionable results through the deployment of practical AI tools and automation technologies.

Serves as a central resource for faculty and staff, providing leadership in the ethical, transparent, and responsible integration of AI in accordance with Board Policy 8822 and the College’s 4D Model of AI Fluency:
Delegation, Description, Discernment, and Diligence.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities
  • Implement and Manage AI Systems – Deploy, test, and maintain AI tools that support student learning, advising, enrollment, budgeting, communications, and other administrative functions.
  • Operationalize AI Strategy – Translate institutional AI goals into actionable plans, ensuring alignment with strategic priorities and measurable impact across departments.
  • Collaboration & Partnerships – Serve as operational liaison, as assigned, with technology vendors, community partners, and grant‑funded AI initiatives; support presentations for senior leadership, the District Board of Trustees, and external agencies.
  • Data and Compliance – Maintain documentation, version control, and governance standards to ensure transparency, accountability, and data integrity in AI workflows.
  • Innovation and Efficiency – Identify emerging technologies, develop institutional AI playbooks, and implement solutions that improve service quality, reduce costs, and increase operational efficiency.
  • Training and Capacity Building – Conduct workshops and AI Learning Labs for faculty and staff to build practical skills, fostering a culture of experimentation and continuous improvement.
  • Completes other related duties and responsibilities as assigned (5%).
Qualifications, Knowledge, and Skill Requirements
  • Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, Educational Technology, or a related field; doctorate preferred.
  • Minimum five (5) years experience designing, implementing, and managing AI systems in academic or administrative settings.
  • Proven leadership in cross‑functional teams and complex technology projects, with a focus on automation and emerging tools.
  • Deep understanding of ethical, legal, and policy frameworks governing AI, including transparency, data privacy, and responsible use.
  • Knowledge of institutional standards such as Board Policy 8822 and the College’s 4D Model of AI Fluency:
    Delegation, Description, Discernment, and Diligence.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to translate technical concepts into accessible guidance for faculty, staff, and students.
  • Demonstrated success in deploying AI solutions such as workflow automation, analytics dashboards, and decision‑support tools.
  • Experience building and maintaining low‑code/no‑code platforms (e.g., Notion, Zapier, Airtable, Smartlead) to optimize institutional processes.
  • Skilled in fostering collaboration across disciplines, integrating technology with educational and operational goals.
  • Commitment to continuous improvement through piloting new AI tools, evaluating outcomes, and scaling effective solutions.
  • Experience with change management and technology adoption in higher education is highly desirable.
