Teaching Assistant

We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join our welcoming primary school in Port Talbot
. The role will involve working closely with pupils across the school, supporting learning, behaviour, and wellbeing.

Our school has a high proportion of male pupils
, some of whom benefit greatly from positive male role models and structured, active engagement. For this reason,

• Supporting pupils in the classroom and during outdoor activities
• Working with individuals or small groups, including pupils with behavioural needs
• Assisting the class teacher with lesson delivery and classroom management
• Providing consistent, calm, and positive behaviour support
• Supporting pupils during playtimes and physical activities

• Have experience working with children (school or youth settings desirable)
• Be confident, patient, and consistent in managing behaviour
• Enjoy being active and engaging pupils through sport or physical activity
• Be able to build strong, respectful relationships with pupils
• Be a positive role model who promotes teamwork, resilience, and respect
• Experience supporting children with behavioural or emotional needs
• A sporting background or interest in physical activity
• Relevant TA qualification or willingness to work towards one
• A supportive and collaborative staff team
