What you will do

As a Project Scheduler, you will play an essential part in one of the most significant transformation programmes in UK industry. Our Projects team delivers complex, multi‑discipline engineering work that is shaping the future of our operations. This role is at the heart of that work. You will help ensure that construction and installation activities across major projects are planned accurately, coordinated effectively and delivered on schedule.

You will develop and maintain detailed construction and commissioning schedules, bringing together information from engineering, project management, contractor partners and on‑site progress updates. Your work will help project teams understand how the programme is performing, highlight risks before they become issues and support decisions that keep the project moving.

This is a practical, people-focused role. You will spend time engaging with engineers, project managers and construction teams to gather information, validate progress and ensure the schedule reflects the reality on the ground. You will also support progress reporting, capacity planning and forecasting activities, helping the wider project controls team maintain a clear and accurate view of project performance.

Your contribution will directly support the safe and efficient delivery of some of the most ambitious engineering work the business has ever undertaken.

What you will need

You will have experience working within project planning or scheduling in a construction or engineering environment. A background in multi‑discipline projects will be useful, along with an understanding of how construction activities are sequenced and resourced.

You should be confident working with planning tools such as Primavera P6 or Microsoft Project, although training can be provided for the right candidate. Strong analytical skills, attention to detail and the ability to interpret technical information are important. You will need good communication skills to work effectively with project managers, engineers and contractor partners. This role suits someone who is forward‑thinking, able to identify challenges early and comfortable supporting others in finding solutions.

A qualification in a STEM subject or a project controls related discipline is helpful. Professional development, including APM or PMI scheduling training, can be supported. Most importantly, you will be someone who enjoys working in a fast‑moving environment where collaboration, accuracy and proactive problem solving are valued.

If you are motivated by helping major projects run smoothly, enjoy…
