Job OverviewThe Diesel Mechanic Manager will oversee and work with the mechanic team to take care of our tow trucks and wreckers with gas and diesel engines, ranging from light-duty trucks to flatbeds with air brakes. Knowledge in all categories of vehicle repair—from routine service to computer-aided diagnostics and air brake repairs—is required. This position involves maintaining repair records, ensuring a clean work area, and communicating effectively with mechanics to clarify any vehicle concerns.
Responsibilitiesand Duties
- Oversee and collaborate with the mechanic team to maintain tow trucks and wreckers.
- Perform and supervise repairs on gas and diesel engines, including light-duty trucks and flatbeds with air brakes.
- Utilize computer-aided diagnostics to identify and resolve vehicle issues.
- Maintain accurate repair records and documentation.
- Ensure the work area is clean, organized, and safe.
- Communicate clearly and calmly with mechanics to clarify vehicle concerns.
- Demonstrate strong customer service skills and maintain a professional demeanor.
- Manage time effectively to meet repair deadlines and operational needs.
- Perform any other duties as assigned.
