Ulster Carpets is a long-established, family-owned Northern Ireland manufacturer with a proud heritage dating back to 1938. From our base in Portadown, we manufacture high-quality woven carpets for prestigious customers across the UK and international markets. We are seeking a creative and enthusiastic Trainee Designer to join our Design Studio in Portadown.
The successful candidate will have a strong creative ability and an interest in developing their career within a specialist design environment. You will contribute to the development of innovative woven carpet designs, working with the wider design team to turn creative ideas into finished design solutions.
Applicants should be able to demonstrate:- A strong ability to demonstrate creativity.
- The ability to understand and apply technical concepts and techniques.
- Good communication, organisation and problem-solving skills.
- A willingness to learn and develop within a specialist design environment.
- Previous experience working within a design environment.
- Knowledge or experience of interior, architectural or textile design.
- An understanding of textile or manufacturing processes.
