Junior Data Engineer - Fabric, Azure (Contract) We are looking for a Junior Data Engineer to join our well-established client's Business Insight & Data Science team on a contract basis. This is an exciting opportunity to work with modern Microsoft data technologies, helping to build and maintain a central data platform that delivers high-quality data for business reporting and analytics.

Working alongside experienced Data Engineers, you will develop and support ETL processes, data pipelines and data models, ensuring data is transformed into business-ready datasets for Power BI reporting. You'll also contribute to the ongoing development of our Azure-based data platform and support best practices across data engineering, testing and deployment.

Remote with visits to the office in the West Midlands 1-2 times a month Day rate:£160pd- £164pd in scope IR35 Start: ASAP

Key Responsibilities Develop and maintain ETL processes and data pipelines. Build and support data warehouse solutions and dimensional data models. Assist in the maintenance and enhancement of the central Azure data platform. Work with business stakeholders to understand reporting and data requirements. Support deployments, testing and source control using Azure Dev Ops. Produce technical documentation and promote data engineering best practices.

Essential Skills & Experience

Experience with SQL development and database solutions.

Experience with ETL development using SSIS, Azure Data Factory and/or Synapse Pipelines. Understanding of data warehousing concepts, including fact and dimension modelling. Must have experience working with Microsoft Fabric , and Azure data technologies. Working knowledge of Azure Dev Ops, including source control and deployment pipelines. Strong analytical skills with excellent attention to detail. Ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

Experience gathering business requirements and translating them into technical solutions. Desirable Skills Knowledge of Microsoft Purview.

Experience with D365 and/or ActiveH systems. Familiarity with Azure architecture and cloud-based data platforms. Understanding of Data Vault methodology.

Experience with in Housing Associations, Local Authorities or the Property Development sector.
