Main Purpose of Role

Lead sourcing and supplier management for direct materials to ensure cost, quality, availability and continuity of supply for manufacturing operations.

Key Accountabilities
  • Develop and execute category strategies for direct materials. Category ownership and scope are subject to change in line with business needs.
  • Lead sourcing, tendering and commercial negotiations.
  • Manage supplier performance, risk, compliance and development.
  • Drive cost reduction, value engineering and should-cost initiatives.
  • Support new product introductions and engineering changes.
  • Partner with Quality on supplier quality governance.
  • Maintain robust contracts, pricing and supply agreements.
  • Monitor market trends and supply risks.
  • Ensure accurate master data and pricing governance.
  • Actively participate in continuous improvement initiatives.
Skills, Knowledge and Experience

Essential Criteria
  • Category management or procurement experience in manufacturing.
  • Strong understanding of direct materials and supply markets.
  • Commercial and negotiation skills.
  • Experience managing supplier relationships and performance.
  • Global sourcing experience.
  • Experience in regulated manufacturing environments.
  • Formal procurement or supply chain qualification.
