Position: Speech Language Pathologist

Location: Regency Hospital - Portage, IN & Regency Hospital - East Chicago (must be willing to travel between the two locations)

Schedule: Full-time

Sign-On Bonus: $15,000

Responsibilities
  • Take initiative, responsibility, and action each day; understand physical, mental, psychological, and social needs of patients.
  • Understand communication skills, evaluation, and treatment and collaborate with associates to provide quality interdisciplinary patient programming.
  • Provide comprehensive evaluation of communication skills and/or swallowing function and deliver goal‑oriented treatment to facilitate maximum communication and/or swallowing potential.
  • Participate with fellow staff in monitoring the quality of services provided by the Rehab Therapy Department.
  • Participate in peer review for staff performance and appraisals.
  • Assist in developing the SLP role in programs and services, and revising departmental policies and procedures.
  • Assist in maintaining adequate stock of supplies.
  • Share professional knowledge and experience and alert the Manager to educational needs.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Current state licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist required.
  • Certified Basic Life Support (BLS) or completion of BLS within the first 90 days of employment required.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Current Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) in Speech Language Pathology from the American Speech-Language & Hearing Association.
