Essential Functions- Prepare patients for radiologic procedures.
- Perform diagnostic imaging procedures according to defined protocols.
- Ensure patient comfort and safety during imaging exams.
- Collaborate with physicians to deliver accurate diagnostic information.
- Use a variety of radiation protection and shielding materials.
- Maintain equipment in working order and report malfunctions to supervisor.
- Enter procedures on the super bill.
- Complete pending radiologic procedures.
- Import and burn CDs as needed for physicians and patients.
- Maintain examination rooms by stocking necessary medical and radiologic supplies.
- Escort patients to and from waiting rooms and exam rooms.
- Attend meetings and seminars as needed.
- Maintain the strictest confidentiality and adherence to HIPAA guidelines.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Knowledge of X‑ray procedures and protocols.
- Knowledge of anatomy and physiology.
- Knowledge of radiology equipment and safety hazards.
Work is performed in a clinical environment, involving exposure to radiation and frequent contact with patients, physicians, and other healthcare personnel. The setting can be fast‑paced and requires constant interaction with others, often with injured or sick patients.
Role Qualifications- Certification as a radiologic technologist.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- A passion for patient care and a fun, team‑oriented attitude.
- Minimum age 18 years.
- Reliable transportation.
Minimum of 1 year experience in X‑ray (new graduates will be considered).
Minimum Education Requirements- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Graduate of an accredited radiologic technology program.
- AART certification.
- Current state license.
- Continuing education (CE) compliant.
- Proper positioning of patients.
- Great attention to detail.
- Ability to identify equipment problems and correct them if possible; notify supervisor.
- Ability to analyze situations and develop solutions.
- Ethical reasoning and decision‑making.
- Time management, prioritization, and a sense of urgency.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Maintain patient confidentiality.
Employees may be required to sit and/or stand for prolonged periods, work longer than eight (8) hour shifts, and work both day and evening shifts. Tasks may require hand dexterity, reach, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, talk, and hear. The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 lbs. Specific vision abilities include close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception, and focus.
