Psychologist Supervisor – Columbia Correctional Institution

The Department of Corrections is focused on public safety through the custody and supervision of those in our care. Position Summary

This position is responsible for the overall administration and supervision of the Psychological Services Unit at the assigned institution. The Psychologist Supervisor oversees the development, administration, supervision and coordination of all psychological services programs within the facility. The role also provides direct services to persons in care, consultation to institution administration and staff, directs staff development programs, and maintains compliance with state and federal guidelines, an affirmative action plan, and health and safety program requirements.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the Psychological Services Unit staff and supervise all clinical activities.

• Develop and administer psychological services programs and staff development initiatives.

• Provide direct clinical services to inmates and supervise direct staff training.

• Ensure compliance with State and Federal guidelines, program standards, and the unit’s affirmative action and health & safety plans.

Salary and Benefits

This position is in pay schedule 81‑02 with a starting pay of $56.82 per hour. Employees with a Doctorate of Psychology (or equivalent) may be eligible for supplemental pay of an additional $6.00 per hour, and those with a permanent license to practice Psychology may receive an additional $5.00 per hour. All wage determinations adhere to the Compensation Plan and Wisconsin Administrative Code in effect at the time of hire, and a two‑year Career Executive trial period is required.

Job Details

Schedule:

Monday – Friday 7:45 AM – 4:30 PM (some flexibility). This is an exempt, FLSA position. Occasional travel may be required for training, meetings, and conferences.

Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States and may be required to pass a pre‑employment drug screen and a criminal background check.

Qualifications

Special Requirements

• Current Wisconsin licensure as a Psychologist or eligibility to obtain Wisconsin licensure by time of appointment; licensure must be maintained during employment.

• CPR certification by the American Heart Association and training in AED use within three months of hire, maintained thereafter.
