Building Support

Job Description

Oakland Academy is looking for a Building Support person to join our team. The role focuses on ensuring that all students receive an excellent education in accordance with the Academy’s mission, vision, and core values, as well as the curriculum standards of Summit Management Consulting.

• Cover the front office; answer the door, phone calls, and email requests.
• Distribute medications as necessary and assist students as needed.
• Maintain timely, complete, and accurate student records (Synergy, Meal Magic).
• Substitute in classrooms as needed and follow the teacher’s lesson plans.
• Prepare and serve lunch; check in food deliveries and cover breakfast as required.
• Assist teachers as time allows—copies, bathroom breaks, etc.
• Perform other duties and tasks as directed by school administration.

High School Diploma/GED and at least 60 college credit hours, plus a valid Substitute Permit issued by the State of Michigan.

The job requires frequent talking and hearing. The role is very active and involves standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing throughout the day. Employees must frequently lift or move items over 50 pounds and must possess both close and distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
