The Music Instructional Support Specialist provides vocal music instruction to Kindergarten and 1st Grade students at Oakland Academy. This individual will create and deliver engaging vocal music experiences that support student development, creativity, and joy of learning. Instruction occurs one hour per week, divided into two 30‑minute sessions, with flexibility in scheduling to accommodate the specialist’s availability.

Schedule:
1 hour per week (30 minutes Kindergarten, 30 minutes 1st Grade). Schedule can be set according to the instructor’s availability (within school hours).
- Provide a structured and engaging vocal music experience to Kindergarten and 1st Grade students once per week.
- Design and deliver the music lesson plans for each class, incorporating age‑appropriate activities such as singing, rhythm patterns, movement, and musical play.
- Model enthusiasm for music and foster a positive, encouraging environment for young learners.
- Support classroom management and student engagement during each session.
- Prepare simple materials or activities needed for weekly instruction.
- Communicate any concerns or observations to the classroom teacher or school administrator.
- Attend brief coordination meetings (virtual or in‑person) when necessary.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
There are no supervisory responsibilities with this position.
