Quality Engineer | Portage, MI Salary Range: $71,000 - $105,000 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities- Develop, implement, and maintain quality control plans and procedures.
- Conduct root cause analysis for non-conformances and implement effective corrective and preventive actions.
- Perform internal and external audits to ensure compliance with quality management systems and regulatory requirements.
- Analyze quality data and metrics to identify trends, drive continuous improvement, and report on quality performance.
- Support new product introduction (NPI) activities, ensuring quality requirements are met from design to production.
- Collaborate with manufacturing and engineering teams to optimize processes and reduce defects.
- Manage supplier quality, including qualification, performance monitoring, and issue resolution.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical field.
- X+ years of experience in a Quality Engineer role within a manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency with core quality tools and methodologies (e.g., SPC, FMEA, MSA, Root Cause Analysis, Control Plans).
- Strong understanding and application of quality management systems (e.g., ISO 9001, IATF 16949).
- Demonstrated ability to analyze data, identify trends, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Six Sigma Black Belt Certification
- Proficiency with Minitab or similar statistical analysis software
- Experience with advanced statistical techniques such as Design of Experiments (DOE) or Gage R&R studies
- Lead Auditor Certification (e.g., ISO 9001, IATF 16949, ISO 13485)
