As a Behavior Technician you’ll help children with autism learn, grow, and build communication, socialization, and self‑help skills through play‑based therapy known as applied behavior analysis (ABA).
Working as a Behavior Technician requires specific characteristics, including:
- A genuine desire to help children with autism and their families reach their goals.
- A steady supply of compassion, empathy, enthusiasm, kindness, goodwill, and reliability.
- A willingness to learn about autism, learning differences, and ABA.
For nearly 10 years, Total Spectrum has provided evidence‑based, contemporary ABA therapy to children, teens, and young adults with autism.

High School Diploma - Transportation:
Reliable transportation; valid driver’s license and personal vehicle preferred. - Schedule:
Availability Monday‑Friday between 8:00 a.m. and 7:30 p.m., primary need typically 3:30 p.m.‑7:30 p.m.; weekend availability is a bonus. - Pay:
Starting at $18.00 /hr with potential increase based on experience. - Certification:
Eligible to earn Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification. - Minimum age: 18 at the first day of employment.
- Eligibility to work in the United States and a consistent weekly schedule in the mornings, afternoons, and/or evenings.
- Ability to pass a background check.
- Bi‑lingual, with English/Spanish fluency.
- Studied, majored, or minored in psychology, education, special education, childcare, behavioral health, health science, or a related field.
- Experience working with children in roles such as babysitter, nanny, tutor, teacher, coach, camp counselor, or other childcare positions.
- Interest in training and skills that support a career in behavior analysis, behavioral health, teaching, occupational therapy, speech‑language pathology, counseling, mental health, and parenting.
- Desire to create lasting, positive change for children and their families.
Physical requirements vary by assignment but may include pushing, pulling, and lifting up to 35 pounds, stooping, standing, walking, and running. You must be able to sit on the floor, stoop, stand, walk, and run.
