Pharmacy Technician / Pharm Tech Apprenticeship

Walgreens is inviting qualified, customer‑focused individuals to join our pharmacy team as Pharmacy Technicians or Pharmacy Technician Apprentices. This apprenticeship program is a recognized credential route to becoming a Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) certified pharmacy technician. You will be trained to manage prescriptions, support the pharmacist, provide outstanding customer service, and develop skills in pharmacy operations and clinical services.

• Assist the pharmacist under direct supervision in the practice of pharmacy and other department duties.
• Use pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information, process prescriptions, and maintain accurate records.
• Model and deliver a distinctive, customer‑centric experience by greeting patients, answering questions, and resolving issues.
• Assist in dispensing medications, verifying correct dosage, checking for interactions, and ensuring quality through quality‑improvement procedures.
• Support pharmacy inventory management, including ordering, unpacking, labeling, and storage of pharmaceuticals.
• Operate the pharmacy cash register in accordance with company policy; handle cash, OTC products, and telephone calls.
• Assist with clinical services when required (e.g., collection and labeling of specimens).
• Maintain a clean, organized pharmacy environment and comply with all safety, asset protection, and conduct policies.

• Earn and maintain PTCB certification through the designated training program and/or state‑required certification/registration.
• Attend ongoing training and continuing education to keep knowledge and skills current in pharmacy and health care.

• Fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English. (Exception: Puerto Rico)
• Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.

• Six months of retail experience.
• Prior work experience with Walgreens.
• Strong math skills for accurate prescription dispensing.
• Good computer skills.
• Knowledge of store inventory control.
• Current or expected PTCB certification.
