Systems Administrator, Cybersecurity
FEMA Corporation is looking for a full‑time IT Systems Administrator. Reporting to the IT Manager, the IT Systems Administrator is responsible for managing and maintaining the IT infrastructure. This includes ensuring the stable operation of FEMA’s IT systems and networks by installing, configuring, maintaining, and optimizing hardware, software, and communication systems. The IT Systems Administrator will also diagnose, resolve, and document hardware and software problems promptly while upholding the company’s mission and goals.
Normal work hours are Monday – Friday, 8:00am – 5:00pm with flexibility to support all shifts and locations as needed. This position is 100% onsite.
- Collaborate with IT counterparts on system enhancements and incident resolution.
- Identify and implement system and process improvements to enhance technical efficiency.
- Install, upgrade, and troubleshoot Windows systems and servers.
- Manage firewalls for performance and security.
- Configure, manage, and maintain Extreme Networks VOSS switches for optimal performance, security, and reliability.
- Manage hardware and software licensing renewals and updates.
- Administer M365 environment utilizing best practices for performance and security.
- Monitor and manage SIEM infrastructure for security threats.
- Maintain disaster recovery plans with periodic testing and updates.
- Maintain and monitor Windows security updates and anti‑virus systems.
- Manage VMware vSphere-based infrastructure.
- Ensure compliance with industry security standards and best practices, such as Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC).
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology or a related field is preferred, but equivalent experience and certifications will be considered.
- 5+ years of relevant work experience is required.
- Industry certifications such as CompTIA Security+, Cisco CCNA, Extreme Networks, VMware, Microsoft Azure/M365, or CISSP/CISM are a plus.
- Strong knowledge of Windows Server administration, Active Directory, Group Policy, DHCP, and DNS.
- Experience with Role-Based Access Control (RBAC) and Distributed File System (DFS).
- Ability to create scripts and automate tasks in Power Shell.
- Familiarity with programming languages (C#, VB, .NET) is a plus.
- Proficiency in VMware vSphere and vSAN.
- Experience with cloud backup technologies.
- Experience in a manufacturing IT environment is preferred.
