Laboratory Supervisor – Flexographic Ink Manufacturer Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Laboratory Supervisor to lead our quality control and product development laboratory at a growing flexographic ink manufacturing facility. The Laboratory Supervisor will oversee daily lab operations, ensure compliance with industry standards, manage a team of technicians, and support the development and testing of new ink formulations. This role is critical to maintaining product quality, driving innovation, and ensuring efficient laboratory processes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise laboratory staff, including scheduling, training, performance reviews, and professional development.
  • Oversee all laboratory testing procedures, including raw material qualification, in-process checks, and finished product release.
  • Lead troubleshooting and root cause analysis for product quality issues.
  • Collaborate with R&D and production teams to support new product development and process improvements.
  • Manage laboratory inventory, equipment calibration, and maintenance schedules.
  • Prepare and review technical reports, certificates of analysis, and laboratory documentation.
  • Implement and maintain laboratory safety protocols and environmental compliance.
  • Interface with suppliers and customers regarding technical inquiries and product specifications.
Qualifications
  • Experience with flexographic ink formulation and testing.
  • Knowledge of color science and color matching.
  • Proven supervisory experience, with strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Familiarity with regulatory requirements for ink manufacturing (ISO, FDA, etc.).
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Proficiency with laboratory information management systems (LIMS) and Microsoft Office.
  • Full-time, on-site position in a manufacturing laboratory.
  • Occasional exposure to chemicals; PPE is required.
  • May require occasional overtime or weekend work to support production schedules.
