First Shift Assembly and Test Operator

Work days are Monday through Thursday, with Fridays as necessary. Shift hours are 7:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. This is an hourly and overtime eligible position.

FEMA Corporation has entry-level openings in the Production Department. Candidates should be able and willing to work overtime hours as needed.

Operators work on teams assembling, testing and packaging hydraulic valves on various production lines in a temperature-controlled environment. No experience necessary. After a 90-day orientation period employees are offered benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, 401K, long-term/short-term disability, life insurance, paid holidays, paid vacation and personal days, educational assistance and stock ownership.

Job Responsibilities

  • Manual assembly of small components (with training)
  • Standing up to ten (10) hours or sitting for up to three (3) hours while operating machines or equipment
  • Use of measuring tools including calipers, indicators, meters and gages (with training)
  • Construction and interpretation, using manual or computerized methods of statistical quality control charts (with training)
  • Packaging and lifting up to fifty (50) pounds
  • Operation of hydraulic test systems (with training)
  • Completion of routine shop paperwork, including basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication and division)
  • Light machine maintenance, including oiling, cleaning and setup (with training)
  • Use of loctites, epoxies and other manufacturing materials
  • Plus other assigned duties

Education requirements, certifications, work experience

  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
