DoD Skillbridge Quality Assurance – Associated Milk Producers Inc.
Join our team for the DoD Skillbridge Quality Assurance role at Associated Milk Producers Inc. (AMPI), a cooperative that owns seven Midwest-based manufacturing plants producing 10% of the nation's American-type cheese, processed cheese and butter.
About AMPIAMPI is known for award‑winning dairy products and the Dinner Bell Creamery brand. This internship offers a learning program designed to train participants for potential full‑time opportunities.
Responsibilities- Execute required tests on finished products according to SOPs and customer requirements.
- Conduct tests on incoming ingredients according to the QMS (Quality Monitoring Scheme).
- Perform daily/weekly plating, calibration, sample collection, and sample preparation.
- Support investigations on improvement projects, identify root causes, and help develop corrective actions.
- Assist in training operators to ensure accurate and timely process checks as outlined in the QMS.
- Communicate out‑of‑specification product results to supervisors.
- Calibrate laboratory equipment such as pH meters and scales in accordance with SOPs.
- Carry out daily routine sample analyses using lab techniques and instrumentation following Good Laboratory Practices (GLP).
- Organize laboratory records and files, ensuring compliance with procedures and maintaining accurate quality records.
- Support laboratory activities to maintain and improve product quality, safety, housekeeping, and hygiene standards.
• 2+ years of experience in a quality assurance or laboratory environment (preferred).
• Knowledge of SOPs, GLP, and quality monitoring systems.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Outstanding communication and organizational skills.
