Role OverviewWe are seeking a skilled and motivated Multi‑Skilled Engineer to join a dynamic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining and improving production machinery to ensure minimal downtime while adhering to health and safety regulations.
Key Responsibilities- Ensure compliance with all health and safety policies and regulations.
- Diagnose and resolve equipment breakdowns efficiently.
- Perform preventative maintenance (PMs) and contribute to continuous improvement projects.
- Conduct risk assessments and implement necessary controls to mitigate risks.
- Lock off any hazardous machinery immediately and carry out necessary repairs.
- Proactively complete PMs on offline machinery when possible.
- Maintain accurate records, including PM sheets, maintenance logs, and computer system updates.
- Collaborate with production teams to quickly diagnose and resolve machinery faults.
- Communicate professionally with external contractors and suppliers.
Skills & Qualifications
- HNC, City & Guilds, or time‑served apprenticeship with relevant engineering qualifications.
- Experience in a similar role, preferably within a food manufacturing environment (other manufacturing experience considered).
- Electrically biased or multi‑skilled engineer.
- PLC, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems experience is highly desirable.
- Flexible and proactive approach with a positive 'can‑do' attitude.
- Experience with SAP is a plus.
Salary:
Up to £49,434 per annum
Holiday: 25 days plus bank holidays
Overtime:
Available (Saturday x1.5, Sunday x2) – 8 or 10‑hour shifts
Pension:
Matched up to 10%
Life Assurance: 6x salary
Additional Employee Benefits- Working Hours:
Permanent role operating on a 4‑shift rotating pattern: - AM Shift: 06:00 – 14:00 (Monday to Friday)
- PM Shift: 14:00 – 22:00 (Monday to Friday)
- Night Shift: 22:00 – 06:00 (Sunday to Friday morning)
- Day Shift: Monday to Saturday with a day off during the week
