Schedule:
Part‑time, permanent location, unpaid breaks, guaranteed number of hours per week.
- Retail Security Officer role to protect the Waitrose store, its people, and assets by providing security and excellent customer service through Mitie and Waitrose key values.
- Full and extensive training will be provided including MAYBO and key focus on customer service.
- Company funded SIA licence renewal and support from NOC with technology such as body‑worn camera and incident reporting device.
- Deliver results that meet or exceed the expectations of Mitie and Waitrose by using all technology provided and following ASCONE guidance.
- Previous security experience.
- Valid SIA licence.
- Excellent communication skills at all levels.
- Energy and enthusiasm.
- Ensure compliance with all aspects of policies and relevant legal and regulatory requirements as directed by the Security Account Manager and in accordance with UK law and guidance bodies.
- Fully engage with NOC and Mitie management and use all technology provided, including body‑cam and mobile devices to aid in incident reporting.
- Complete all tasks and duties on site as defined within the published Assignment Instructions (AI's).
- Proactively review the Assignment Instructions and suggest amendments to improve service levels.
- Maintain front‑line licence and wear it at all times while carrying out duties; comply with industry and statutory legislation. Renew licence six months before expiry.
- Work systematically, methodically, and orderly.
- Complete all required competency training.
- Engage in continuous self‑development as directed by the Security Account Manager.
- Use technology to meet key work objectives and develop job knowledge through ongoing professional development.
- Report any health and safety hazards or potential hazards immediately.
- Stay alert to threats or changes in the work environment to reduce risk.
- Use common sense and initiative to involve others if a situation becomes threatening.
- Maintain professional conduct with difficult situations and challenging customers.
- Keep accurate notebook entries promptly after incidents, then use as part of the incident report process.
- Adhere to schedules and demonstrate commitment.
- Ensure check calls are made at allocated times per Assignment Instructions.
- Call emergency services and Communication Centre to report all incidents.
