Position Overview

Painter and Decorator at Gov Facility Services Ltd (GFSL) – HMP Portland, a category B adult male and YOI prison.

Salary: £30,656.92 per annum

Contract: Permanent, full‑time – 39 hours per week, Monday to Friday

Location: HMP Portland, Portland Port, England, United Kingdom

Work alongside experienced and passionate colleagues across maintenance trades to create a safe and nurturing environment. You will help maintain the appearance and condition of the prison’s interior and exterior, contributing to a secure and rehabilitative setting for prisoners, staff, visitors and the wider community.

• A City & Gauge or NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Painting and Decorating, or equivalent experience
• Experience working in a maintenance team
• An honest and reliable character who approaches work with purpose and pace
• Good Health & Safety knowledge
• Excellent organisational, time‑management and people skills
