Position: PRN Support Staff Technician 6647

We are looking for a dynamic, passionate Support Staff Technician to provide essential support and administrative services at our Convenience Care office in Portland, IN.

Position: PRN (as needed), working at least 2 weekends a month with a weekend rotation. Clinic hours of operation are Monday through Friday 12pm - 8pm and weekends 8am - 2pm.

Responsibilities
  • Communication (verbal and written) and consultation with all center staff, clients, and the general public, maintaining a professional, customer‑focused environment.
  • Answering incoming telephone calls, scheduling/rescheduling appointments for primary care and behavioral providers, taking messages and/or routing to appropriate extension.
  • Collecting patient co‑pays and payments at registration and general cashier duties.
  • Retrieving medical records from outside providers and creating medical record charts for new patients. Maintains a working knowledge of release of information procedures per Meridian policies and procedures.
  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Two years secretarial/office experience preferred.
  • Previous experience in a medical setting strongly preferred.
  • Computer proficiency and ability to type and/or use computer to complete data entry and telephone duties.
  • Strong communication skills (both verbal and written).
  • Ability to organize, prioritize, and manage multiple tasks.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • A valid driver’s license with a driving record meeting Meridian’s driving policy, reliable transportation, and proof of auto insurance.
